If you are like most wastewater treatment operators, you are focused on producing clean water and don’t have the time to dedicate to “managing the pile.” See how Material Matters helps clients create a land application program that is both cost-effective and easily implementable.

A land application program

Establishing a Land Application Program

Material Matters assists clients with implementing cost-effective beneficial use land application programs for biosolids and other industrial or food processing residuals. In developing the program, we work closely with our clients to develop a plan that meets their short-term and long-term needs, as well as complies with local or state regulations.

Our program set-up services include:

  • Reviewing the current biosolids sampling plan
  • Preparing a system to acquire biosolids data
  • Setting up a load tracking and data management system
  • Establishing transportation and farmer payment system
  • Locating and qualifying (or permitting) land application (farm) sites
  • Compiling and submitting paperwork for farms
  • Coordinating with regulatory agencies

Material Manager™ Database for Land Application Programs

We maintain program data through the Material Manager™ software, a relational database management application introduced into the marketplace in 2004. Soon to be in a cloud-based format, this program assists wastewater treatment facilities with managing, record-keeping, and reporting to help assure their biosolids programs comply with state and federal regulations.
